Cabot’s father Ron hunted with Cabot on the last part of the 2015 fall Alaskan Peninsula brown bear season in October. Hunting in a high bear density area of Cabot’s newly acquired exclusive guide area in the Katmai Preserve – Sugarloaf, they saw upwards of 50 – 60 different brown bears in 6 days being at camp. With brown bear encounters everyday, Ron choose to harvest this magnificent old mature boar on the third day of hunting. Squaring an honest 9’6 with a record book skull measuring 28″ 3/16. Biologists in King Salmon estimate that the old boar will more than likely age around 22-24 years old. It was a memorable hunt with father and son that will never be forgotten. Enjoy the pictures.
