Tony hunted with us in the fall of 2017. Tony came with his good friend Jeff Knapp. Jeff started the hunt off fast with harvesting a monster 10’1 bruin on day one at 22 yards. Another 10’ plus bear appeared a couple days later and laid claim to Jeff’s carcass. Since Tony was an avid archer and brought his bow and arrow to hopefully harvest a brown bear with, it was a super hard decision to make when the winds were not playing in our favor to make a stalk on the bear that had claimed Jeff’s bear car carcass. After watching the huge bear for an evening and early morning almost devour the carcass, Tony made the decision to switch to a rifle instead of risking a blown stalk on such a large animal with unsteady winds.
Tony was guided by Cabot Pitts and Don Dygert. Tony’s brown bear squared 10’1 with a 27″ 6/16 skull. A fighter with lots of scars and a broke/ripped right ear.
